Rating by category:
location excellent - especially for GRAND PRIX! friendly and helpful staff (except they didn't offer to bring my heavy bags up to my room!) nice conference facilities and catering nice bar to unwind with a drink after a tiring day
the room decor was a little tired; chipped paint on doors etc; average bathroom ; nescafe coffee and tea - no nice little luxuries like a decent instant coffee if I wanted one (and I did need one!)
I wanted a peaceful restful place to spend 24 hours and was happy with what the hotel delivered.
A good hotel, good helpful staff - reasonable distance from city centre. An enjoyable stay and will return some day!
Bayview Eden islocated close to the city centre witout being in city. The staff are always freindly and helpful answering any questions we had about Melbournes many attractions and the trams which are just a short walk away. The room service is excellent and the food served is always best quality and fresh, But beware if you are not a big eater order from the snack menu because most meals are huge. Alround a nice place to stay.
The Hotel Staff were professional and very helpful. Quick to deliver the information required. The bed was very comfortable and the room was quite spacious.Would recommend a short or longer stay if you wanted to be close to the City. Loved the fact that Albert Park and St Kilda were close by and public transport was so convenient.
Would have enjoyed a park view. If I am to book another stay at the Bayview Eden then I would want the opportunity to book a room with a view.
I had a dinner to attend in the hotel, it was very nice. Unfortunately it co-incided with the Grand Prix which meant the room rate was quite high!
There was a damp smell in the hallways.
we attended a wedding there and had a lovely reception and stay in the hotel
we waited over 25 minutes to be served for drinks in the hotel lobby
Clean, tidy, well presented
Traffic and access to the carpark at the rear of the Bayview. Understanding that I arrived during peak hour it took literally 15 minutes to travel 500m
I liked the room, the location of the hotel and the staff.
i did think the breakfast was a bit expensive. I only had bacon egg and beans but I had to pay $25 which entitled you to all of the buffet but if you only wanted beans on toast you still had tp pay full price.
I liked how there were taxi all ready there waiting. The staff were friendly and I thought the rooms were nice and clean. Would recommened bayview eden melbourne to all my friends and family. I will be staying there again
No complaints at all was very happy with the whole hotel
Was the cheapest option available during Australian Open. Stayed one night and hotel was definitely up to standards. Good value.
Location is slightly off, but you are two minutes walk from trams that will take you the hot spots in less than 20 minutes.
Bayview has two hotels on Queen Street and I thought that I had booked in at the other hotel which was closer to my conference venue - this is confusing. Airways flight staff stay at this hotel and arrive at 11pm, this is often noisy with lots of door slamming. On my first night the rooms around me were being cleaned and serviced at 11pm prior to the arrival of flight staff. The rooms are not sound proof and I heard the lady in the room next door to me talking on Skype most of the night. A light blanket needs to be supplied as standard in the room as the duvet on the bed is much too hot for summer.
check in out was easy and the breakfast was good
thought the motel was a little dated and the car parking although it was advertised it was not mentioned you had to pay
Close to public transport. Had good selection of 24hr service menu. Dessert was amazing!! Good bar downstairs. Swimming pool available
One bed too springy and soft. Good bath tub and shower. Bathroom needed a better fan
All staff friendly and efficient; suite clean
Now charge for parking. Also charge for wifi in rooms which is not the case at most of the hotels I stay at. Left my iPhone charge in room when I left; did not get a message or call to tell me it had been found - might I add in 40 years of travel, I can only recall two hotels contacting me about an item found in the room during cleaning and both of them were in New York.
